LATEST RELEASE:

MARY O'HARA 40 Traditional Songs is Mary's latest CD release. Mary chose the tracks herself for this 2CD career retrospective

"Treat for listeners:
Music Speaks Louder Than Words by Mary O'Hara (Chrysalis)
This, as one would expect from Mary O'Hara, is a truly beautiful record. Her performance is at one polished and sincere, and the well-chosen selection of songs covers a wide range of moods and styles: modern and traditional, sentiment and passion.
Some of the numbers, such as "Annie's Song", will be familiar to most people, but the arrangements are brilliant and the impression throughout the record is one of complete freshness. The words in every instance are well worth listerning to, and the melodies delightful.
She is well complemented by her backing group and the admirable Arun Chorale on several of the tracks. There are also three traditional Gaelic songs and these, perhaps, are the most impressive and evocative.
But the whole record is a treat to listen to, whether on the level of purely light entertainment or on that of something a little more profound, to be enjoyed in a spirit of peacefulness."
